Familiarization with amber

The sea and a pine tree. A pine tree and the sea... Strange union of nature that gave birth to the wonderful natural stone amber. If asked to tell precisely where and when amber was discovered for the first time, no one could do that. Only one thing is known, that this stone was found in different corners of the world thousands of years ago. But if we talk about amber as a valuable, its extraction, amber jewellery, we necessarily have in mind amber of the Baltic Sea. It is not coincidence that amber is called tear of the sea. Already in ancient times people picked up amber and made ornaments. Women wore multicoloured amber necklaces, buttoned up linen or woollen coats with different brooches encrusted with natural amber.
